Flood Relief Kits Distributed in Indonesia
Following recent flooding due to Cyclone Senyar in Indonesia, Sucafina has begun distributing emergency food relief to farming households in Gayo coffee communities.
Thanks to generous contributions from roasters, partners and employees, we chartered two flights delivering essential food supplies into the region.
Our Indonesia team has coordinated last-mile distribution to ensure 913 farmers and 69 suppliers and neighbors have received the vital food supplies they need. So far, this has included rice, salted fish and other essential items, helping families meet immediate needs while farms, roads and infrastructure recover.
The flooding has resulted in more than 1,000 confirmed deaths, with many more people displaced and facing food insecurity across Aceh, North Sumatra and West Sumatra. For producers, access to basic food supplies during this period can reduce short-term financial pressure and support household stability.
