Our Approach: Second Payments and Bank Accounts
Through our partnership with Equity Bank, we offer accounts to all farmers delivering to our stations, increasing farmer bankability and making it easier to deliver second payments.
- With bank accounts, farmers have better access to credit and can deposit payment straight into their account using cherry they deliver to the station. Cherry ‘deposits’ can also be used to pay for goods and inputs.
- To make these accounts accessible, we’ve transformed our washing stations into agency banks. Staff at our washing stations can help farmers open a bank account and deposit & withdraw money.
- In 2020, our washing stations helped open more than 14,000 accounts for farmers.
How to Get Involved
Through these new bank accounts, second payments are deposited directly into farmer’s bank accounts, making delivering bonuses easier and faster than ever.
Second payments can be added as price per lb/kg or in lump sums. Speak with your trader about the best way for you to contribute.
