Franciska Apro

Franciska fell in love with coffee during her university studies. Her interest started as a side-job in a café but quickly became an obsession.

Over the past 8 years, Franciska has worked in several different roles within the coffee industry, starting as a barista, moving on to become a trainer and finally becoming a quality manager and roaster in a small roastery in Hungary, where she is from originally. As she developed her career, she spent most of her free time volunteering as a judge for SCA events and as the event coordinator of the Hungarian chapter of the SCA, where she organized competitions. The sensory aspect of coffee has always fascinated her, which is what lead her to become involved in competitions and judging and, finally, to working in QC.

Franciska has dreamed about working more closely with green coffee for years, so when she saw our job advertisement she was excited. Needless to say, when we saw her previous experience, we were too.

According to Franciska, moving to Antwerp and joining the team has probably been her best decision so far. She is always keen to learn more about coffee and quality control, and this is undoubtably the best place for her to be. She says, “the fact that every single member of the team can teach me something every day is simply awesome.”
