Sustainability Projects in Colombia
As part of our continuing commitment to our producing partners, roasters can now contribute to several sustainability projects in Colombia that support the communities in our supply chain. By supporting our partners both in coffee production and in laying the groundwork for future success, roasters are helping to create a more sustainable and ethical supply chain. We invite roasters to contribute to these projects through an added cents per lb/kg, or through a lump sum. Contact your trader to learn more.
Improve Conditions in Rural Schools
Help improve learning conditions in rural schools. With a good education, children can go on to become leaders in their communities and support continued improvement in the coffee supply chain.
Post-Harvest Training for Specialty Coffee Farmers
Strengthen knowledge and build capacity for specialty coffee production. Provide post-harvest kits and proper drying and fermentation infrastructure for some producers in our supply chain.
Enhance Agroforestry Systems
Support farmers as they enhance agroforestry systems on their farms. This will include planting woody tree species that prevent erosion and protect watersheds. Farmers will also plant fruit trees such as cocoa or avocado that provide shade for coffee trees and additional cash and food crops. To begin, we're working with 50 farms that are approximately 3 hectares each.
Clean Water Access for Rural Communities
Clean water access is a human right and we believe that communities in our supply chain should have access to safe, clean water. Furthermore, access to safe drinking water saves time and protects the environment by eliminating the need to fetch water from distant creeks or burn wood to boil and purify water.
With your support, we can make a lasting impact in the communities within our supply chain. We invite roasters to contribute to these projects through an added cents per lb/kg, or through a lump sum. Contact your trader to learn more.
