Meet Angelica Tenjo

With People of Sucafina, we take you behind the scenes to hear from the incredible people who make your coffee possible. This week we’re talking to Angelica Tenjo, HR & Admin Coordinator at Sucafina Colombia.

How did you get into HR?

I’ve been in Human Resources for more than a decade. I’m passionate about it. Joining Sucafina has been an amazing journey that I feel proud to be a part of.

I started my career as a psychologist. I took one course where I was able to do clinical, educational and organizational psychology. The last one, organizational psychology, became my main interest because you can make a positive impact on many more people working in HR than as a psychologist. Since then, I have been working in this amazing field.

Working for Sucafina specifically was a dream since coffee started in my family with my grandmother. She taught me a bit about it and why I should be proud of this product. One of my aunts in a roaster in Spain too.

What are your main jobs/tasks?

I’m in charge of the full employment life cycle of all our employees in Colombia. I help with recruiting, selection, training, wellness, administrative tasks, helping in EHS, legal issues and others.

What inspires you?

I’m inspired when I’m able to do what I love. When I’m able to create, to help others and to work with and for people as an HR administrator and beyond.

What’s something interesting about you? 

I love to watch movies, to cook (I once studied to become a chef), to travel and to explore new cultures and new places. I also love animals and have 2 dogs and 2 cats.
