What is WCR?
WCR was formed in 2012 to address the need for innovation to make coffee more profitable and sustainable. WCR also works to ensure that production can continue to meet demand. They engage in agricultural research and development (R&D) to find new genetic varieties, new market opportunities for farmers and discover ways to become more resilient and more profitable, especially considering the threats posed by climate change.

WCR has been involved in a wide array of projects from sequencing the DNA of coffee leaf rust to establishing 290+ experimental fields focused on improving farmer profitability.
